Born in 1949 in Chelmsford and from an early age I showed great interest in electrical engineering and all things of a technical nature so it was inevitable that I was going to make a career in the electrical industry.

I left school and went to work at the local bus company Eastern National as an Apprentice Electrical Engineer and thus was able to combine two great passions, electrical engineering, and vehicles. Whilst working on the ‘buses’ I attended college for 8 years acquiring skills and qualifications up to HND standards in Advanced Electrical Engineering and I had the distinction of also having under me two other apprentices and looking after 3 bus stations and a fleet of over 100 buses and coaches. In addition to this I also attended an instructor’s course as the company was looking to open its own approved college to train their own apprentices and I also passed this course.

Since leaving the bus company, I have worked in a variety of technical roles which included specification and training within the electrical industry and during my time have attended many management and sales courses, all giving me a vast breadth and depth to my experiences whilst in the employ of the following companies.

Halliburton’s, Romlite Ltd, L.P.Foreman & Sons Ltd, Burrows Electrical Wholesale, Crabtree Electrical, Switchcraft Ltd, Crabtree Electrical (again) Ashley & Rock, Hager and eventually finished up here at Flex Connectors and currently in my 10th year and enjoying it.

I have in my time invented a number of things that are now common place, if only I had taken out a patent… however my hobbies are all as you would expect centred around technical things, F1, Military Aircraft, Cars, Buses, Lorries, Electricity, Computers and Photography.
