Project Support Engineer – Twyford Office
A new opportunity has arisen for a Project Support Engineer to form part of a small office based team at our new site in Twyford, Reading. A varied position, the ideal candidate will combine excellent communication skills with a team spirited attitude in the preparation of project specific quotations. You will need to work well under pressure, to achieve deadlines whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail.
Job Description
- Answer telephone and email enquiries from customers regarding flex 7 products.
- By reference to customers’ drawings, develop designs, prepare product schedules and provide quotations for customers’ projects.
- Liaise with customers to ensure that designs, schedules and quotations match customers’ changing requirements as projects develop.
- Act as liaison between Flex Connectors and customers during the quotation, ordering, manufacture and delivery of customers’ orders.
- Work to resolve all performance issues arising from the supply of products, via telephone and visits to site, e.g. project implementation, product performance and other customer installation issues.
- Liaise with both regional and office-based colleagues regarding project progress and likely customer requirements.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have an electrical contracting background with a good understanding of electrical installation drawings and practices. They must demonstrate excellent communication skills and in particular have the ability to explain the highly technical in an easily understandable manner. Experience of Autocad will be a distinct advantage as well as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Knowledge of lighting controls will be an asset.
Qualifications
City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 (A & B): Electrical Installation & Wiring or similar.
Part C (Technicians) would be an advantage.
Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience on site (commercial / industrial projects)
Preferably 2 years office based electrical estimating or design experience.
Accounts Assistant – Twyford Office
Job Description
- Purchase Ledger
- Enter supplier invoices on to the Sage Line 50 system, having checked that goods have been received (or services completed) and that the invoice has been properly authorised by the originator.
- Ensure that suppliers are paid at appropriate time and by appropriate method, as directed by the accounts manager
- Reconcile supplier statements
- Investigate and solve queries relating to supplier invoices.
- Sales Ledger
- Generate customer invoices using the Sage Line 50 system and send out.
- Obtain proof of delivery paperwork for any orders despatched to site and send copies of the POD to the relevant customer branch and their head office accounts if necessary.
- Generate and send out customer statements.
- Make visits to the bank or Post Office in order to bank cheques from customers.
- In liaison with sales office, investigate and solve queries from customers relating to invoices.
- Maintain credit control, chasing up debtors when necessary.
- Schedule invoices & credit notes to invoice discounting company
- Carry out credit rating searches on new customers, using the Internet.
- Administration
- Reconcile company bank accounts
- File supplier invoices and carry out any other accounts filing as required.
